Mission Statement
United Way On Campus at Texas A&M University-College Station serves the local community by 1) educating our members, other student organizations, and the Texas A&M student body about the United Way of Brazos Valley and its partner agencies, 2) raising funds for community initiatives of the Brazos Valley, and 3) inviting guest speakers who embody our mission. Our ultimate goal is to increase community involvement within the student body to help further develop the Brazos Valley area.
Current Initiatives
UWOC Book Drive supporting United Way Kids Matter
Our upcoming book drive for children ages six and below is on April 8, 10, 15, and 16. This event is part of Kids Matter, a United Way initiative that promotes early childhood learning. Upon collection of books, the Kids Matter Community Solutions Team will distribute them to underprivileged children whose parents may not be able to afford books for them. Our objective is to provide your donated books to our program's participating partners, who will in turn read to the children and encourage them to learn how to read.
